Bitcoin ISO official code domain "xbt.com" starts at Lloyd's auction house for nearly $2.8 million
Lloyds Auctions announced the auction of the "XBT.com" domain name, which is closely related to Bitcoin's historical position in the traditional financial field. The starting price is $2,798,917. The auction will end on March 28. Lee Hames, COO of the auction house, speculated that Musk, Bezos, and even Trump may participate in the bidding. "XBT" is the ISO 4217 currency code for Bitcoin, which was launched around 2013, similar to gold (XAU) and silver (XAG). Exchanges such as Kraken and BitMEX still use XBT as some URLs and API endpoints, but have switched to BTC during Bitcoin's last halving cycle.
